While trying to remain calm during the Yankees early World Series batting slump, I’m sitting here googling everything that either simply pops into my head or pops out of my wife’s mouth. This is most difficult considering my laptop is upstairs at the moment.
I’ve been trying to create a succinct and thoughtful post about Health Care Reform – so I’m looking for as many different views and theories as I can find, but to be honest – I still haven’t come across any viable arguments as to why we should continue to accept our broken, corrupt present system. And I sit and wonder how and why so many people are being swayed by those who spout propaganda about death panels and socialized medicine because they’re so afraid of their loss of support from the special interest groups. At some point where I’m a little less focused on the game I’ll present my point as to why I support the Single Payer System.
It’s too important of a topic to try and put into an intelligent argument while shouting for the Yankees to stop striking out, drinking beer, eating salty snacks, tossing the ball around for the dog and wondering why my wife is sitting at the bar playing old Jamaican dancehall songs while the fucking World Series is on the TV! Strangely this starts me wondering whatever happened to re-knowned Opera Singer Richard Crooks who passed away in 1972. It seems Crooks spent some time in East Harlem, and had a child with Afeni Shakur – that child turned out to be Lesane Parish Crooks or, as he’s better known; Tupac Shakur.
I have a more or less eclectic taste in music, I’m really not much of an opera or a hip hop fan. I really have to be in the mood for an aria or a song about bootie. Tupac was a compelling figure who lost his life to gunfire in 1996. Multi-million selling rap artist, he remains one of the genres legendary figures.
As the game is getting a little better, tonight I’d simply like to offer a simple pearl of wisdom from the presumably late Tupac Shakur;
“You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, even months over-analyzing a situation. Trying to put the pieces back together justifying what could’ve, should’ve, would’ve happened. Or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on. ”
Leave it to a dead rapper to put it all so eloquently. It’s genius actually.
People are dying in this country because they are denied the care they need because they don’t have insurance, or in many cases ENOUGH insurance. Cancer patients are denied medication because it’s not available through their overpriced prescription plans. Struggling middle class citizens are going broke trying to pay insurance premiums for their children, and these billion dollar profit insurance companies are denying their claims anyway.
Face it. It’s fucked up. It’s been fucked up, it’s still fucked up – we can argue all day and night about who fucked it up in the first place. Let’s leave the bullshit on the floor and just fix it already.
I’m well aware that’s an overly simplistic view – but hey, I’m busy watching the game. And if you hadn’t already noticed, the name of the blog you’re reading is after all Bonehead.

Ah... Loves me my Zevon!
I've listened to a little Tupac. of course not by choice it was forced on me by a teenager I believe was my son, but I can handle it.
Hi! Good day!
i will be having a triple medical celebration. It is a mini medical blog thing game, not a contest, but a game - a posting game. In this regard, I am looking for bloggers who are willing to sponsor EC credits, 125x125 ad space or cash (thru paypal). Aside from these prizes, I, personally, will be giving medical freebies to the lucky winners and to the sponsors as well. Winners and sponsors who will receive my medical freebies will be chosen using Random.org.
I am looking forward to hear any from u! You can check the sponsors' list here.

Hey Steph - Big Warren Zevon fan here too - any opportunity I can find to incorporate his music I try!
Ann - It's an acquired taste - sort of like scotch, or beet salad
Gagay - I guess I understand the tie-in, but I'm wondering if we can request specific Medical freebies should we win. If so, please put me down for a weeks supply of morphine, a dirty syringe and some Viagra.
Nothing like a J Giddy post. It touches on health care, Yankees, Music, god I lost count. Think I need a beer ;-)
I now have lived 6 years in Denmark. The first I got when I came to this country was my Healthcare card. I already been to hospital here, good service and everything for free. Have to live with the high taxes, but dont have to worry about becoming sick or pay for my kids education.
MOB – well, it’s either A.D.D. or the beer that usually diverts my topics into a veritable salad of mixed thoughts. I figure its ok though – it is a salad, which is supposed to be good for you.
Mr P – A friend of ours was born and raised in France and has told us that most of the European countries follow the form of coverage you describe. Seeing how politicians here opposed to reform can actually convince people that most Europeans are not happy with their care is beyond her comprehension. Just another example of how too many people in this country will believe anything they’re told and blindly follow without investigating for themselves.
